Senior Financial/Cost Analyst

Position Purpose/Mission:

As a member of the Finance Team, support efforts to evaluate, enhance, and improve business results; participate in monthly financial reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business degree
  • Three plus years’ experience in manufacturing environment or public accounting
  • Understanding of accounting and financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Experience participating in a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills to gather data from multiple sources and report findings
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfort working with and explaining financial concepts to non-financial employees
  • Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office software products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Business Administration or CPA, or working toward completion
  • Three to Five plus years’ related experience
  • Exposure to or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with ERP systems and cost systems
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Financial analysis ability such as return on investment, payback analysis, etc.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Review job costs, calculate actual margins and present results/opportunities to operations
  • Participate in cross-functional CI teams
  • Work on cross-functional cost reduction teams on cost reductions; track and report the results
  • Participate in Monthly and Year End Close process
  • Provide analysis of the Corporate P&L, including budget to actual variance, trend analytics, and accountability to cost center owners
  • Support the annual budget and the quarterly forecast
  • Prepare reports and analysis on an ad-hoc basis
  • Support department and function annual goal initiatives through team participation

Responsibilities for Supervision

No direct reports, but present and persuade team members

Organizational Relationships

  • Reports to: Chief Financial Officer; dotted line to Controller
  • Primary internal customers: Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, other as identified
